What is Cloud Computing? Pros and Cons in 2024

What is Cloud Computing: Hello everyone! Today, we will understand all the details about cloud computing

One after the other, every effort has been made in this article.

That you can get this information what is cloud computing? You will be able to understand all the things about its use.

It is a type of server storage. which is accessed through the Internet.

In simple words, it is the services provided to the user on their computer using the Internet. the server database is the delivery of networking storage.

What is Cloud Computing?

It is the use of a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, restrict and process any type of data instead of a local server or personal computer maintained by multiple computers.

Cloud Computing Services

In Internet-based cloud computing, users are given the facility to store data on the server.

There are many types of Cloud Computing services today! All these services have some basic features and advantages in common.

And they are classified into three cloud computing services. With three different types of cloud computing services, you can move your business, small or large, to the cloud.

1. Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS)

This service means that! Providing the user with all the computing capabilities needed for data in a virtual environment, as well as providing storage space in the cloud.

For Example – Amazon Web service, internet connectivity, utility computing service, and billing model, automation of administrative tasks, Google computer engine, etc.

2. Platform as a service ( PAAS)

Platform service refers to the user’s virtual environment or tools on which the software is tested.

It provides a framework to cloud computing service developers that can be used to create custom applications.

Platform as a service allows software developers to create custom applications online without worrying about data storage, data service, and management.

Network capacity storage on the Internet acts as a rating agent for operating system hardware.

for example – Google App Engine.

3. Software as a service (SAAS)

It is a software distribution model in which a tertiary service provider maintains the application and makes it available to the user over the Internet.

SAAS is a cloud computing service offering that provides on-demand web-based software applications to customers.

SAAS is one of the most familiar cloud computing service offerings. Because users often interact directly with SAAS applications like Netflix, Gmail, and Dropbox.

This service is a subscription-based offering! Where users subscribe to the software on a monthly basis instead of buying it

For Example – Google, Microsoft, WordPress, and Pardot marketing automation.

There are three types

1. Public Cloud Computing Public cloud computing

  • Public clouds are typically cloud environments built from an IT infrastructure.
  • The public cloud provides its services to the public over the Internet for a fee.
  • The service and infrastructure are shared by all the customers.
  • Public Cloud Computing provides its services and stores it on the Internet.
  • The public cloud is often recommended for software development and collaborative projects.
  • The provision of more capacity is made on the demand of the customers.
  • The benefits of a public cloud are versatility and pay-per-use.
  • Amazon Microsoft Google are some examples of public cloud.

2. Private cloud computing Private cloud computing

A private cloud is loosely defined as a cloud environment that is entirely dedicated to a single end-user or group.

  • A private cloud is used by an organization.
  • They provide their service to only a few specific people.
  • Authorized users can access and store data from the private cloud from anywhere using the Internet.
  • Solutions in the private cloud provide security and control.
  • The private cloud cannot be controlled by an external vendor.
  • A private cloud is a cloud delivery option that helps enterprises with fewer employees or less skilled IT teams provide better private cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Some examples of private clouds are on-premises clouds and narrow clouds.

3. Hybrid cloud computing Hybrid cloud computing

A hybrid cloud is a combination of mixed computing i.e. public and private cloud. Hybrid clouds are designed to allow two platforms to interact seamlessly. By which data and applications can be shared easily with each other

This on-premises infrastructure is made up of private cloud services and a public cloud.

For Example- Amazon Web services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.

Advantages of Cloud computing

  • The capital cost of cloud computing is relatively low.
  • Its updates are easily provided by the service provider.
  • The software cannot be copied into the service of cloud computing, each user is officially provided this service by paying a reasonable fee.
  • What is Cloud Computing
  • In this, the storage of data is relatively secure as all the data is kept secure using high technology on a central server.
  • In this, the storage of data is relatively secure as all the data is kept secure using high technology on a central server.
  • We are taking the advantage of cloud computing every day somewhere in our life! Such as Email, Gmail, Email, data backup, Google Drive, drive, software delivery on demand, creating applications, and audio-video streaming example – Netflix, Amazon Web services, Hotstar, wynk music, etc.

Disadvantages

  • Due to the storage of data on the central server of Cloud Computing, it becomes the center of cyberattacks, which reduces the security of the data.
  • What is Cloud Computing
  • The data stored on the server can be misused and the privacy of a person can be breached.
